The TILE64 processor contains 64 full-featured, programmable cores and, according to Tilera, delivers 10 times the performance and 30 times the performance-per-watt of the Intel dual-core Xeon; and 40 times the performance of the leading Texas Instruments DSP. Initial target markets for the TILE64 processor include the embedded networking and digital multimedia markets.
The researchers were able to construct a method of turning body heat into electricity using the same principal as thermoelectric generators (TEG) made from semi-conductor elements. TEGs extract electricity from the temperature difference between a hot and cold environment.
Travelling faster than light also, in theory, turns back time. According to conventional physics, an astronaut moving beyond light speed would arrive at his destination before leaving.
But two German physicists claim to have forced light to overcome its own speed limit using the strange phenomenon of quantum tunnelling, in which particles summon up the energy to cross an apparently uncrossable barrier.
It’s pretty simple, when a plugged in device doesn’t need energy for over 3 minutes, then its power will be cut, as a result, the more things you plug in, the more energy you save and this is automatic, just plug your things in and let it roll!
A team of physicists has teleported data over a distance of 89 miles from the Canary Island of La Palma to the neighbouring island of Tenerife, which is 10 times further than the previous attempt at teleportation through free space.
The U.S. Navy on Friday awarded Northrop Grumman a six-year, $635.8 million USD contract to further develop the X-47B fixed-wing unmanned air system (UAS)
A team of international astronomers recently discovered the largest known planet orbiting a star outside of the Earth’s solar system. A team utilizing the Transatlantic Exoplanet Survey, or TrES, first spotted the large planet in 2006, but waited for confirmation from several universities.
